<p>Is NC State noted at all for their liberal arts programs such as psychology?</p>
<p>Well I do know that the College of Design is very well-regarded, and VERY competitive for entry. One of 10 student applicants are admitted. My D was rejected from Design but may go in as a freshman undeclared in the First Year College, which seems to be a great program, top 25 in the nation of it’s kind.(freshman living and learning community)</p>
<p>Sometimes the lesser known depts. can be great. My S was in a very small dept. at NCSU (Natural Resources) and got lots of help and personal attention from his advisor. Most of the classes in his major had less than twenty people in them. It was like going to a small school within a huge university.</p>
