NC State problem (my problem not theirs)

Okay, I am an average student Ive had like 3 C's my whole high school career and my GPA weighted is 3.88 and unweighted is a 3.22 im ranked 96 out of 526 and like 1500-1600 on the SAT's but I have to make a choice. NC State is a school I really want to get into and the beginning of my senior I told myself enough with the slacking off my senior year Im going to try really hard (doing well so far and I know its a little too late for that pep talk but still). I could probably pull my GPA up to a 4.2 or around there and I am taking the SAT's one more time but should I apply early with the my stats above or should I apply later assuming I will get a good score on the SAT's and raise my GPA up. Im thinking about majoring in economics so if NC State doesn't work what if I go to a community college and take general ed courses and then transfer to Cornell again assuming I do really really well in community college

Assuming the 1500-1600 is out of 2400, NC State is a reach. Bring it up to at least 1800 and you have a much more reasonable shot. Your GPA and rank are solid and in line with NCSU's admit pool. NC State admits almost entirely based on GPA/rank and SAT scores, so they're very important.

You might consider UNCG, which is pretty strong in accounting/marketing/econ/business.

what about Clemson ?

anyone? please

Economics is part of the College of Mangement at NCSU. The COM has become one of the most popular and sought after admits at State. As you know, when you apply to State, you are applying directly to the College in which you intend to major. To get in the COM, I would think you definitely need to raise your SAT score. First Year College at NCSU may be a good option if your scores won't get you in COM. Then you could do really well in FYC and go from there to COM your soph. year. I don't know as much about Clemson. Do you apply directly to the College of your major on their app.?

Sorry For reposting so late but thats the thing Im positive I will bring my grades up trmendously first quarter so I can apply early with a so so chance or late with a slightly better chance
