NC State transfer

I was thinking about transferring to NC State as a junior. I'm currently a community college student. My gpa is a 3.57, after this semester I'm hoping it will go up to a 3.7. I want to major in Political Science, I guess that would mean I would have to apply to the Humanities and Social Sciences. They require at least a 3.0 but NC State wants your high school transcripts, my hs gpa was like a 2.5 and I never took the SAT but NC State doesn't require that you send it. What do you think my chances of getting in are?

Political Science isn’t as competitive as engineering would be. So I believe you do stand a good chance. If you can boost that up, you will be guaranteed admission. What about clubs and extra curricular activities? Have you done any of those, that does play an impact. You should send your high school transcript, I spoke to them about this and they told me they definitely look for improvements. The bigger the improvements the greater the chance of being acceptance.

Good luck to you!
Hope you get in!

I think you have a great chance even if you don’t pull your gpa up. Getting a 3.7 will be the icing on the cake.

Sorry I made a mistake with calculating my gpa it’s actually a 3.0, I’m making all A’s as of now. If I get a 4.0 this semester then it go to a 3.3 and I’ve got to take 3 classes in the summer and 3 in the fall. So I’ve time to pull it higher. Do you think I’m still competitive?

Sure, I think you have a chance. Obviously not as much as if you had a 3.7 but nonetheless ~>3.00 is still mandible for NC State especially if you are gonna transfer in as a junior.
