GEORGE MASON WON, BC LOST!!!

I'm still mourning about Duke, but tonight went pretty damn well so far in my opinion!!

McRoberts will go higher than Hansborogh, the talk with nba scouts is that hansborough may be as good as hes going to get, and that McRoberts can do more things, and his potential is frightening.

Yes, but that's not the comparison. The comparison is, will McRoberts go higher this year or next? Will Hansborough go higher this year or next?

I'm getting the sense that some of you think that the NBA Draft is largely about who the most talented player is... it is absolutely not. In fact, talent and polished skills have very little to do with anything. Tyler Hansbrough may be quite the college player, but he's undersized for the NBA and isn't all that athletic. He'd be insane to leave for the NBA because he would get absolutely dominated; he's better off staying in college and trying to become a great college player (and there's nothing wrong with that).

Josh McRoberts, on the other hand, is athletic. Does he have polished skills? No. Can he shoot that well? No. Does the NBA care? No. The NBA mindset is basically that skills can be learned over time, while God-given athleticism and size cannot. This is why Josh McRoberts can average single figures in points and a shade over five rebounds, and still be a possible top five pick.

See, I'm wondering about it from the other way around. McRoberts needs another year to prove himself in college, while Hansborough really isn't going to get any better.

I suppose I'm thinking of them as stocks that they're trying to convince people to buy: McRoberts will get better in college next year, so he can go even higher in the draft if he waits one year. Hansborough is as high as he's going to get already, so he may as well "sell" now.

I think all us Dukies keep saying McRoberts needs to stay another yearm because we all want him to stay another year =) a couple weeks ago he was projected to go 13th (JJ 14th and Shelden 7-8), but now he is the 5th most desired prospect. If he decides to test the waters, and go does some camps this summer, he may well be a top 3 pick. NBA drafts on potential (at least in the lottery areas).

I hope he stays another year or 2. Think of this lineup Paulus, Nelson, Schire (sp?), McRoberts, Zubiak, with gerald henderson as a 6th man (interchangeable with Schire). We're gonna be a lot like Kansas/UNC this year, young, but could have gone a long way in the tournament if it weren't for bradley and geroge mason (Go GMU!)

I personally don't like underclassmen in the draft. I think that college is critical to the development of a player. We see so many of them go in the draft, and also kids straight out of hs, and most of them flop. If I were McRoberts or Hansborough, I'd stay at least another year. Just my personal thoughts though.

**** YEAH GMU!!!!

Wow my dad suddenly has a shot of doing well in his office pool again.

Go GMU as well. And down with the Gators. Them going to the final four only makes me hate them more.
What an exciting tournament though. It would be awesome to have LSU vs GMU in the champ game, with GMU winning.

This has been one of the best tournaments I've seen ever. Maybe the best. So many games coming down to the wire, and no #1 seeds left. Crazy.

i want to see lsu vs gmu in final because they beat the two teams i HAD picked going into the final (duke and uconn respectively)

i want to see gmu win it all

"This is why Josh McRoberts can average single figures in points and a shade over five rebounds, and still be a possible top five pick."

McRoberts is not a top five pick. I know nbadraft.net says stuff like this, but they are horrible. The person who runs that site clearly has little knowledge of the game.

PS GO BRUINS

Chad Ford has McRoberts at 6 if he goes. I think he's better off going this year purely on potential because next year he won't be able to carry the load down low, and NBA teams will hate that.

I want UCLA in the final. I am tired of people saying how weak Pac-10 had been the whole season (even in the post-season, some people said UConn would "blow away" Washington). It's time to prove those BS "experts" wrong. Very often, sports experts (like that Dick) don't know what they are talking about; they just make all kinds of silly claims just so they have something to talk about.

Anybody have any thoughts about GMU vs. Florida right now?

I'm so lost between them...I'm just hoping it's a great game and full of grit and heart. :)

GMU is looking pretty good.....I mean it is even or within 5. This game is great and Fl cannot shoot for much. Gotta love the Cinderella Man.

and GMU is scrambling.....but not able to close the 13 pt gap. Not looking to hopeful for the Cinderella Man...darn.

Uh huh...but teams have come from behind.

One reason why I love basketball. The pace and franticness of it. sighs
