NCP refusal and other fun stuff

ND and Minn have some tuition reciprocity. You should also look at Nebraska and Wyoming as they are quite inexpensive. At Wyoming she’d pay 150% of the instate tuition, or about $7k per year. If you have a $0 EFC, she’ll get a Pell grant of about $6100 (probably $6200 next year), the $5500 loan, and perhaps a department scholarship. The study abroad program in England is $9000 and she can use all her scholarships.

Nebraska has some pretty nice scholarships.

I don’t think her stats are high enough for the meets full needs schools, but your being from ND might help. Try Smith or Vassar.

Work. those NCPs and see if anything comes up for affordable schools. I was just suggesting UAlabama Huntsville on another thread as an auto -scholarship award school. Albright College in PA guarantees to meet need as defined by EFC. I would check out local schools that might give good financial aid packages as well as those not within commuting range. It’s good that she has s local option in a CC with transfer possibilities.

It’s going to be a hunt for money.

Being from ND and a girl in stem will help, but is no magic bullet.
Email all “meet need” schools (especially women’s colleges) and ask how they treat your situation: ncp is abroad, will answer daughter’s mails/calls, has not visited her in … years, you have his address but no way to enact any financial recovery, no alimony.
{The fact he won’t complete the FAFSA nor Css profile is immaterial here. It shouldn’t be in the in the question.}
Include colleges such as St Olaf, Beloit, Lawrence, Denison, Dickinson, St Lawrence, Sewanee.
Cross out any College there comes back with required information from ncp.
