I was first in my class in freshman year but I have no idea what I am now.
I took the SAT in December and received a 1770, but I’m taking it again on the 24th.

I’ve heard various stories about those who are selected so I have no idea what this means but it will be good to compare information and have discussions if there is anything we can clear up for each other. I suppose we’ll see how everything goes as the process continues.

This is hilarious! My SAT is a 1770 too! How do you feel about your essays?

That is such a coincidence! What were your scores on each section individually? Mine were 590 (reading), 570 (math), and 610 (writing). I thought my essays were pretty good even though I found it hard to explain some of the questions because they were so similar! I’m also not very involved all the time with community service and a lot of STEM activities so I have no idea how they are going to look at that aspect of my application, but I think that my essays depict what I wanted so that’s good. What about you how did you feel about the application stuff? Also have you been able to log onto the uniapp application process tracker yet?

reading: 520
Writing: 520
Math:730
I feel really cocky about my essays lately, honestly they are bomb. I worked everyday since October. But there are a few that were a bit flaky.

and yes i was able to log in today

That’s good that you’re confident about the essays I think over all mine are pretty great too. I take you’ll probably do very well on the Discovery Day test as well! Your math SAT score is amazing, good job! I hope I do as well on the 24th, but I will have to study more. How do you feel about your teachers giving you evaluations?

Yo I’m applying to. Really nervous for the 24th I got a 670 M 640 CR and 600 W in November.

It’s good to be nervous but it seems that your SAT scores are really good! Did you get the score report in order to compare them to the SAT scores from your school? I went to an open house and the admissions guy said that that’s how they judge your scores not just how high the number are in each section. Over all though it seems like that would be a pretty high score so I think your SAT portion should be really good on the application if you go to a normal school with an average of 1600!

it is a survey. don’t worry, illiterate teachers wont change anything ha-ha. I am a good student so i don’t really care. my discovery day is on the date 3.14.15 it is pi ha ha. i hope you do good too! where are you from?

Thank you! I feel the same way you do about the teacher evals so I hope everything ends up good with them. My date is 3/7/15 (sadly not pi :grinning:). I’m from Laney in New Hanover County and am desperately hoping to get out of here since its a primarily a sports focused school and a sports person I am not. What about you, you’re from Swain right? Why do you want to leave?

Swain has 7 AP classes, we don’t care about academics. Life here is football, football, food, and football (I hate football). I run cross country and i am fairly good at it, and plan on running if and when i get into NCSSM.

Oh! and i honestly hate competition, and i just want to be able to collaborate without collaborating with myself to do everything ha ha.

That’s cool, I definitely think you’ll get in so I guess you should start preparing to try out for another team! I get what you mean about the football epidemic that seems to be spreading throughout high schools everywhere though, :stuckouttongueclosedeyes: except in my school it’s combined with basketball (Micheal Jordan went there when he was a kid so it’s all anyone talks about). It’s a bit ridiculous though because they always seem to buy sports equipment until they can’t get enough of it but yet we don’t have enough textbooks in my classes! (If you haven’t already learned I’m a nerd with a soap box to stand on.) Anyway, that sucks about the AP classes, we have them but I have to force myself into them because sometimes the counselors say classes are full when they’re not if they don’t want you to take a class! It seems the odds are against us at our schools, I really hope we’ll both get in!

I hope we get in too! this will be the one thing we will look back on, hopefully, and say we did it right! Go team super dweeb level 100!

how much higher is your SAT than your schools average?

Team super dweeb will hopefully level up sometime in April! My SAT score is 280 above the school’s average, which I know is not a lot which is why I’m trying to take it again on the 24th so I can have a really good super score from the two. I’ve been studying like crazy so I think this time will be better. Your score is 450 above yours though so that must be a good thing, you’ll definitely stand out in your school.

Hopefully! This whole application thing is WAY too stressful for me  i cant wait for it all to be over. Honestly I know i wont get in on first try. Wait list will be my best friend, and if i get in it will be right before school starts :flushed: I studied for my math section on the SAT but i didn’t study for any of the other sections…

Don’t stress too much! It’s important but it’s not going to be as bad as you think. Your application seems really solid so just trust that you know it’s a good application. I think you’ll get in first time so I wouldn’t worry about wait listing yet. I understand that the other sections are important but they really want to know you’re strong in math and you proved that so calm down. It’s not over until April so make sure the rest or your application is just as strong!
