NCSSM class of 2020 future applicants

@kidwithadream202 It depends on the congressional district. If your friend doesn’t live in an urban CD, he/she should get in easily. If in Charlotte area or triangle area, he/she might get rejected due to the C in calc. Also, some may say his/her schedule isn’t rigorous but it depends on the maximum rigor the school offers. He/she should connect his EC to STEM education in some way in his app. Good luck!

Does anyone know if NCSSM considers quarter and semester grades too, or if they can only see final grades for year-long courses?

@skylark101 Hi! NCSSM considers what you give them, as in when you sent in your transcript. Usually they receive your transcript around this time, which means that your first two quarters/first semester grades are on there.
They do have permission to ask for a final transcript when you end the year and get accepted.

2 weeks left…

3 days left!!! Is anyone else super anxious??

@Pen2020 yep

@SairacUchiha I made the mistake of trying out the mail tester website that was mentioned in another ncssm chat. Don’t do it lol it just makes u more nervous

@Pen2020 Mail tester? Whats that?

Its a website that tells you if emails are valid or not. A few years ago, NCSSM applicants would enter their would-be NCSSM student email before the actual results came out because the selection committee supposedly creates all of the student email addresses for all accepted students before the results are posted. Applicants would type in what their student email should be if they get in and see if the email is valid or not. If it’s valid, they were accepted, and if not, they were rejected. I don’t think it works though.

Hi, sophomores! NCSSM c/o 19 here. Good luck tomorrow! Know that NCSSM is not a determining factor and that you will do well anywhere. I look forward to seeing all of you at Welcome Day!!!

Thanks @microguy123 . 5.5 hours left…

This is the longest day of my life…

2 more hours! Enjoy this moment…regardless of the decision, YOU were chosen to apply to this school. Most students that get rejected ARE eligible and meet the general criteria.

We should all band together and let each other know when we are notified!

10 minutes!!! Good luck everyone and if you don’t make it, remember that life goes on

I’ve been selected for the Online Class!!! I’m so happy!!

I didn’t get in but I wasn’t really expecting to. How about you guys?

I got accepted for the online but not residential, and I’m happy about it but I was really hoping for residential. What do you think my chances would be if I were to appeal?

@kayjxxI think that you should think it over before you try to appeal. If you want to appeal, that means you give up your spot for the Online Program!
