Much of it will depend on your congressional district, essays and your SAT score. I have seen some highly qualified candidates from the Charlotte area not make it into NCSSM (and I imagine the same is true for Wake) whereas candidates from small, rural areas can make it in with lesser scores. Good luck!

Thank you for your response! I am from the Charlotte area and my friend who got in says there is a lot of competition here and I am really nervous.

No reason to be nervous, you are a very strong candidate for sure!

Charlotte is very competitive for NCSSM admissions so just do your best on the SAT and think about which teachers you will have write your recommendations and be sure they know you well and are in a position to support you. Good luck it is a great school

Thank you! I take the SAT next month. Is the SAT more important or the essay questions?

Your SAT score will be compared to the avg SAT score of your high school so you need to do a good bit better than your school avg. I am sure all parts of the application are very important so when the essay questions come out, take your time and be sure to think through what you are writing,

Since the essay questions are not out yet, spend a lot of time preparing for your upcoming SAT and be sure to be making a very good impression on your teachers.

Does anyone know how competitive CD9 is?

Hey, how does the discovery day test like
