NCSSM - need advice on applying. class of 2017

hey, i am applying for ncssm, ive been wanting to go there forever, and i want to know if people get into the school with average grades, and how can you get teacher evaluation if your homeschooled? also, i am a sophmore this year:)

The standards for admission vary depending on the region where you live. Greater competition in the major metropolitan areas places more emphasis on grades and test scores than in the other regions across the state. Homeschool parents may write the teacher evaluations, but your application would benefit from some sort of external validation – university or community college professor, online teacher, college guidance counselor. My home-educated daughter was accepted last cycle so it definitely can be done. Take the time to build a strong application and provide detailed course descriptions to help the admissions officer see the strength of your preparation.

okay thanks so much!

btw im in district 1!!!

do you know how competitive district 13 is?

The capitol cut off and demolished district 13. I heard of this girl, Katniss, from district 12 who is working with survivors though. May the odds be ever in your favor.

Hahaha you are great!!! love that you said that, made my day

Hey, I’m applying too. I’m in CD 1 as well.

Awesome awesome!! I found out I’m actually CD 13, I’m from wilson. Where are you from?

I live in the Triangle, Durham-Raleigh-Chapel Hill.

Okay, I’m in the Raleigh, Greenville, Rocky Mount area. At least we aren’t competing against each other.

Btw since we are both applying maybe we can keep in touch and hopefully get accepted together!!

@ISpy42‌ I was wondering what exactly you did for your daughter for the evaluations, and this is my first year being enrolled in an online academy, so could I get some evaluations from teachers I had in public school last year?
