Per Twitter, decisions will be out Jan 30 but they are selectively releasing some decisions. So, keep an eye out by checking the portal if you are one of the early ones but looks like for most, another week and a half of waiting!

They historically release on a Friday night, so likely Jan 27 if the pattern continues.
Generally, the AOs just repeat the tag line on the website which says âby Jan 30â but it says that every year and yet they release on the last Friday of the month. No idea why they dont just state that.
Might be by major, but generally for students who qualify for some scholarship as the interview process for those takes time so they let the kids know early.
Son was an NCSU grad last year and is currently in grad school @ State. The âlast Friday in Januaryâ sentiments have proven true every year since he applied but one, when they released early on a Saturday morning. Expect it sometime after 4:00 PM Friday (if it is like usual) when the admissions office will soon be closed and not have to field calls from unhappy applicants.
It is interesting how different schools navigate the release. James Madison said the same-wouldnât release before a weekend when the office is closed.
Daughter was accepted NCSU last year and took gap year. The portal closed and was just reopened yesterday so things are moving. I predict Thursday or Friday this week. You know it is close once that Withdraw button disappears. Wait for it
Interesting. My sonâs withdrawal button is still active. Do we think this is a clue to their Decision? Or is it more likely that they are loading decisions in waves?
Hi, all â does anyone know how the merit aid/scholarship process works at NCSU? Per their website, scholarships are only awarded through their scholarship portal, but you canât apply for those until after admission, which means you wouldnât find out about scholarships until Mar/Apr, which seems pretty late compared to other schools that communicate about merit aid as early as Dec/Jan.
Iâm wondering if there are some academic scholarships that are communicated at the same time as the admissions decision.
The timing is tough for RD applications, but it is pretty slim pickings anyway. They were very specific scholarships or for upper classmen. D21 never heard anything until the financial aid finally posted.
The financial aid (or lack there of) made NCSU her most expensive option. We did trigger need based aid at some top colleges and generous merit at other state flagships. NCSU was near the top of her options, but there was no way to justify the expense OOS. I would not bank on any miracles.
Thanks â Iâm actually talking about Early Action. It just seems strange that the school would not award any merit aid at the time of admission, like other competitive schools (including UNC) do â but thatâs what the website seems to indicate.
When the decisions are released in the next few days, itâll be interesting to see if anyone here does actually get a merit aid award.
