NCSU Fall 2017 Transfer Chances

Oh, and after this semester, I’ll have 31 credit hours. So I was never really worried about the 30 hour requirement for transfers.

I’m at ECU and applied for Biochemistry. My GPA is around a 3.5 with 31 credits. If a class doesn’t transfer, will it still be calculated into my GPA? That class would bring me up to 34 credits.

Anyone know the day they released that year? I can not wait anymore. I have 3.66 gpa in accounting major from community college in Texas. And I would like to transfer as senior. I’m so nervous now

@uncgstudent what program are you applying into?

Last year they released on March 25, 5 days ahead of anticipated date.

The wait is pretty awful, but if you look at NC State’s website, you can see they are almost ready to release decisions. I went under the Fall 2017 Admissions Counselor, and they have it written up everything BESIDES the numbers on the percentage of who got in for Fall of 2017. It literally said … applied for Transfer admission and___was accepted. So my bet is that it would be earlier than the 15th. Best of luck to all of you. This semester is killing my GPA.

I applied to both UNC and NC State and here are my stats:

College GPA: University of South Carolina, Columbia

  • 3.6 (after first semester) (B in Calculus)
  • I will have 30 credit hours after my first year
    HS GPA:
  • 3.5 weighted (attended a strong private high school)
    ACT:
  • 26 (30 in reading, 32 in writing, 28 in science)
  • My composite is low because i did poorly on the English and Math sections (22 and 26)
    EC:
  • Three sports in high school: four years of baseball, four years of football.
  • Various volunteering (30 hours in the first semester of college)
  • Worked a summer job
  • Member of Carolina Productions (Film Club at UofSC)

@martintrevor did you get accepted from Unc? I was rejected last week and now ncsu is my only hope

3.29 applied for biology. I will have my associates in science before the fall.
I have two poor grades in the same class. I’m retaking it again. It brought my gpa from 3.67 to 3.29. But I read that they remove your lowest two grades. Think I got a shot?

@uncgo rejected, NCSU is also my last hope lol

@PStransfer1842 I’m applying to their Bachelor of Arts in Communication program.

NCSU really should just release decisions now

chance me?

How does the ranking of transfer majors work? So like I’m looking at Environmental science… does it help that it’s not a popular transfer major, or not??

@transferpack97 I found that transfer advising link you were talking about earlier, and below the post with the percentages there is another one that says decisions will be released on the 14th.

@PStransfer1842 It should only help you that you applied to an unpopular transfer major. The engineering degrees are more competitive for transfer students. My major wasn’t even a top 10 of incoming transfers. I just feel like I’m a complete toss-up.

average gpa for 2016 was 3.42. Requirement for certain engineer majors requires 3.5 gpa. I feel like if you’re around 3.4, you should fine. I hope…

@reChed7 Yep, I was wondering if it may be the 14th, could be a typo though. It’s hard to wait for this. I can’t wait to know where I’m going to school next fall.

@helpbobby123 I have a 3.25 with one semester of college down. It also helps if you’re in-state student or have some legacies (not sure how much they weigh legacy status). If you have an associates degree already you’re ahead of a lot of applicants for sure. I feel like I would be ahead of some community college students because I’m at a four year. You have a shot.

Did not expect 1.1k views on my thread but I’m glad ya’ll found it. Best of luck to everyone trying to get into State!
