NCSU Fall 2018 Transfer Thread

@mbvd24 you have to manually do it and check every one
go to transfer equivalents ncsu

It says on there website they will do an automatic check once ive applied. I got accepted just trying to find out how many actually transfered.

My ACT score got to admissions late, 2 days ago but what do you think my chances are 3.62 gpa PTK honors/ veterans club member(will be president next semester if i get denied) 36 transferable credit hours course loads have been 17-18 hrs with a full time job lowest grade so far is a B. Ive taken precal algebra, both english classes, gen chem 1&2, general psych, gen bio1, micro bio, art appre., intro to interpersonal comm. Act composite 27, eng 28, math 19(didn’t study, my test was very geometry heavy) reading 30, science 33, S.T.E.M. score 27. Applied for animal science major

@Nccope I would think you’d have a good chance! It really all depends on your major.

My major is animal science, i dont know how popular that major is.

Hey there, I recently got into state (as a transfer) and I’m afraid my decision might be revoked?! I am possible getting 3 A’s, one C or B, and one D. I am afraid failing this class might be a big deal!? It is not a class I necessarily need for my major, but I am still worried. Anyone have any advice!? thx u

I got my decision last month and they are pending my spring grades. Is this super competitive?

i dont think they will revoke your decision, especially since they drop the two lowest grades below a C-. Good luck! @b223512

@packlove04 hey there’s a thread for what your looking for (deferred transfers) http://talk.qa.collegeconfidential.com/north-carolina-state-university/2078111-nc-state-transfer-chances-deferred.html#latest

To answer you question, I think only admissions knows how competitive it really is.

Is it just me or does NC State have an early transfer application deadline? Clemson and U of SC are still taking applications for a month or two? So upset I missed the deadline. Oh well, looks like I’ll have to wait until spring.

@packlove04 I also received the pending spring grades, I called admissions to ask if all decisions were releasing on june 15th but they told me they reviewed as the grades came in. My transcript was put in their system on the 14th and I still haven’t heard jack…

My WolfPaw doesn’t say my spring grades have been received, but when I emailed them they said they got my grades. I’m honestly so nervous for the decision lol

Me too, I wish I knew when they are releasing the decisions… the answer I got was very vague

my decision has been released.

Help!
I am a transfer student from another school in Raleigh and was deferred pending spring grades
I have a college GPA of 3.61
major in business administration concentrated in marketing
63 credits (3 of them from highschool)
have taken English 111 and a 4 credit integrated calculus/precalculus class but it won’t transfer over as nc states full calculus class for my major, but I am hoping the fact that I got an A in the math course will count for something at least. I only took English 111 at my current school which is only 3 credits because the next English above that one for some reason wouldn’t transfer over. So I don’t have all 4 English credits complete like state wants me too. Hopefully, that isn’t a deal breaker either.

Have worked two jobs, done volunteer work while in school and in the summer, and in one club

requirements for Poole college of management
3.0 and above GPA
English Composition
3-4 credit hours of College-level Calculus

what do you all think my chances of getting in are? this is my second time applying as I applied before in high school and was denied, so I am extremely nervous for this upcoming decision!

@packlove04 I hope your decision was favorable! I’ve yet to receive mine from them, I hope they don’t wait until the 15th because that would be a full month

@anitsirc98 The fact that you’re pending spring grades gives me some hope for you, hopefully they accept you missing the eng 112. I read somewhere else on here that if you were missing any of the transfer requirements it would be a deny. But them asking for spring grades means you have a shot… It’s a toss up honestly, someone else said that an A avg gpa was viewed as a C gpa (I don’t know how accurate that is). I’m in the 3.6 range also so I’m right there with you, the missing english is definately not going to help, everything else looked strong

Thank you and thanks for the feedback! I am really hoping they will overlook the English 112 since my school doesn’t even offer 112 so fingers crossed they are understanding since I heard I could just take a 1 credit English course there to meet the full English requirement. Also, this might be a dumb question (sorry) but what did you mean by looking at the A average as a C GPA?

@anitsirc98 it was just somebody saying that 4 year admissions view an A or a 4.0 in a class as a 2.0. I think it’s b.s. as mutiple people said the academics are equal between 2 and 4 year schools, it’s just the workload that differs. And sorry the english 112 is what my 2 year calls the second english. At the CC i’m at you have to take english 111+112 to be equal to state’s english 101.

ooh gotcha! and yeah that’s what I heard it was but for some reason mine only has eng 200 instead of 112 which even together doesnt count for states lol so annoying
