NCSU vs Virginia Tech

I have been accepted in NCSU and Vtech. But which of both is better for chemical engineering? Thanks for your help

Wal, would you still consider Virginia Tech? Or did Monday's event decide for you? We are considering both schools as well, but not for chemical engineering.

Virginia Tech is one of those places where I never talk to anyone who went there who didn't like it. My brother went there; my niece and 3 other cousins are there now, and 3 of my best friends from law school went there. They all loved it and love it. My niece was on the 5th floor of the dorm -directly above - where the first shootings occurred. She has no regrets about going to Tech. They are all heartbroken - first about the lives lost but also that - perhaps forever - Virginia Tech, a place so dear to them, will be associated with the word "massacre."

Hi tia 3:

I am still considering to go to Virginia Tech. Last event could have happened in every University.

wal - That is exactly how my daughter feels. As a parent, there is a worry that she may not be looking ahead to how the general mood and identity of her school will become. But one of the reasons she had grown attached to it is for its unity and school spirit. And with students coming in who are detemined to help it keep that, maybe it can heal faster. She just needs to recognize that she will have to be part of that healing environment.

cartera45 - I agree and was sad to see the media smack the word "massacre" after Virginia Tech, which has had such a positive ring for us. There will always be a generation of people who think no farther than that when hearing of the school now. It's another unfair result of that one horrible day.

But I have to add, NC State has spirit and is a wonderful school, as well. Just two very different locations. She would also be a happy member of the WolfPak!
