Notre Dame is far better at the undergraduate level which is what the OP is interested in (or was whenever he/she posted). This isn’t even open for debate. UT? Its not on the same level as ND.

Mendoza is a top-notch business school - one of the best (some would say THE best) in the country. McCombs is a top-notch business school, and you would be in the honors program there. They’re both fantastic schools, so don’t make your decision based on academics.

Make your decision based on the huge differences between the schools:

Texas: hot weather, huge student body, Austin, state school, southern, lots of instate students, greek life, Big 12

Notre Dame: smaller student body, pedestrian campus, cold winters, amazing traditions, South Bend, dorm communities, Big East, catholic school, geographic diversity, midwest

Not sure how this thread gained new life, but I was accepted at both schools (McCombs at UT), and the choice came down to where I would be happiest. UT is vast, support for undergrads is thin, and it is essentially a commuter campus (relatively few students live on campus due to lack of housing.) UT is discussing an increase in undergrad enrollment to 60K+ over the next four years. ND emphasizes undergrad programs, tremendous suppport, and residential campus. Had some merit aid at UT (very lucky, not much is offered) and am in-state. ND is a real stretch for my family and I received no merit aid. Tough choice, but I will be going to ND. Maybe UT for grad school.
