For all you Notre Dame fans...GO IRISH, BEAT PANTHERS!

Amen to that!

The Weis era begins today.... I have been waiting 8 months for this and it is finally here!

We are gonna kick some panther butt today!!!

That was such an amazing game! For all of you out there looking at Notre Dame, this is part of the reason you should come. There are the academics, sure, but we also have the sports and school unity like you wouldn't believe. We are a family, and that family extends beyond just your four years here; I think we would all attest to that. Notre Dame may not be an Ivy, and it may not be the first school in the US News Rankings, but I think you would be hard-pressed to find a better college experience than the one you will get at the University of Notre Dame!

it was sweet. watching the game on the quad was almost as good as being there

Did they set up something on the quad? At night?

I'm in marching band, so I was there. Oh, my gosh...that was seriously an exciting game. Watch out, ND IS BACK!

GREAT GAME NOTRE DAME! i cant wait untill next year when i will hopefully be sitting in the stands in South Bend as a student at ND!!!!

GO IRISH!!!!.... we're baaaackkkk

yeah they set up a big projection screen and played the game on it. there was a ton of kids there and it was so much fun doing all of the cheers and everything we would have done if it was a home game. the only hard part was you had to keeping getting up because we kept scoring. ill take that though its better than sitting down. but it was amazing. i cant wait till we play state now.

The game vaulted ND into the top 20 . . . right before they have to play Michigan. We'll know a lot more about ND after they have played 4 games. All against ranked teams (Pitt was ranked inthe top 25 before the loss to ND).

irish68178,

Don't say that over on the Stanford or Harvard forums. There is a long discussion about whether athletic scholarships are appropriate. From my perspective merit scholarships are fine . . . even for the ND leprecaun. ;-)

Granted, I am not one who would have been able to get into Stanford or Harvard, as I had to transfer in to Notre Dame as it is. However, I know plenty of people here that would have been more than able to attend either one of those schools but are far happier here. I just think the difference you are going to have in education between one of those two and ND is really insignificant. However, especially if you are a sports fan, it is my belief that ND provides a better overall college experience. I truly believe college is about more than just academics, but it is about enjoying your time and forming the person you will be in the future. For me, as well as for a lot of other people, I don't think there is a better place than Notre Dame. I am very biased, however, lol. There is just something about being able to have top 25 academics as well as a top 25 football team....why not have both?

wooohooo we are ranked. i cant wait to see how high we will be ranked next week after we kick some michigan butt
