It sounds like today may be the day that we find out if we made it to the finalist level for scholarships. Good luck everyone!
@irishgal1909 Why do you think maybe today? That’s a quick turn around.
Spoke with someone in the merit scholarship office who said it would be around the 16th for decisions. I’m sure it all depends on how much time it takes to review submissions.
Thanks for the info. Did you also apply for Glynn?
notre dame merit finalist decisions have been historically released from 20-22 February. Likely to follow suit this year.
If we get picked to be a finalist but don’t get the full 25k/year will we still get some extra money? I love ND but I’m really worried about not getting enough aid
Not a finalist. Just got the email. But congrats to all who got it!!! Looks like I can cross Notre Dame off my list…for sure won’t get aid now.
Just got an email saying I’ve been chosen as a finalist!
@Sallaw Congrats! If you got chosen, you deserve it!
I just got my email saying I’m not a finalist but may I ask if you did anything special in your video? Cause I think that might be where I packed in my application?! @Sallaw
@collegecrazy2017 That is definately where I went wrong. I literally did an interview type video the night before and knew it was garbage. Oh well.
I’m a finalist! Congrats to all
I’m a finalist!! Congrats. Look forward to seeing you guys on campus
Finalist also
@collegecrazy806 not anything “special”, but I definitely thought of things that were not generic and interesting
Didn’t get finalist. My video was trash–the app came at a really busy time for me so a lot of it was terribly rushed. Congrats to everyone who did though!
If we were picked as a finalist but not able to attend the interview weekend, is there still a chance of receiving the scholarship? I’ll be out of the country that entire week so I’m unable to go. Just wondering if anyone in the past has had the same situation yet still received the scholarship?
@hannahshs The email sent to my son included a link to the ND website, which specifically said (in bold): “Please note that consideration for a merit scholarship requires complete participation in the Merit Scholar Selection Visit. Participants are expected to arrive on Saturday and depart campus on Tuesday morning. International students will arrive on Friday, March 23 due to travel time.”
It seems that even if someone came late or left early, failing to attend the entire event means that person won’t be considered.
Outside of the Glynn Program, has anyone been notified of a specific scholarship? My finalist email has no indication of a specific scholarship and I was wondering if that means I am eligible for everything? I know in years past candidates for the Hesburgh were told specifically. Thank you
I was not told either––however, I believe there are only three merit scholarships offered which fit the 25k criteria (one of which is the Hesburgh)
