nearly 20 and I feel like I ain't done **** with my life

Meh, I’m 29 and finally wrapping up the associates degree I started years ago. Even though I’ve accomplished nothing from an academic or career standpoint, I still don’t feel like I’ve done nothing with my life. I have more hobbies then I have time to pursue, married with a kid. Most people though would look at me like I haven’t done anything even though I feel very well-lived.
Your just living life in the traditional way which usually means not doing much until you finish school. Nothing wrong with that. Some people do it backwards and do a bunch of living and then do school later. It’s better doing school first though, then often you can end up in a career you love instead of working retail and just living on your days off. If your going thru school to do something you REALLY love instead of whatever pays the most, then you’ve got plenty of cool stuff ahead of you. I’ll be honest, it’s all I can do not to squeal out loud with excitement about things like taking classes in my major and interning. 17 years or so from now I’ll get to live it all vicariously again when my daughter heads off to college. There was a 55 year old guy in my Spanish II class this summer. He has 2 semester left before he finishes the teaching degree he wanted 35 years ago but didn’t get to do. He feels like he’s done plenty with his life and he’s still learning new things.
I don’t hang out with anyone from college, all my friends are from my hobbies. If you can’t hang with your classmates, find a hobby and hang with those people.
