Jazzzmom, if you are out there, I sent you a PM on this topic. And of course if anybody else has direct experience with jazz at NEC I would love to communicate with you.

Thanks!

What questions did you have? NEC’s jazz program is one of the world’s best and most innovative. Many here would agree!

How did your visit go–or is it still upcoming? I honestly get a constant stream of excited reports from my freshman son. I’m sure the experience of discovering yourself as an artist can happen at many schools, but that is the strongest impression I get from observing NEC students. It sure was the right choice for our son. Any specifics you might have once you go there, just ask here and I’d be glad to help.

Hello Jazzzmomm and others. We visited today (I’m at hotel now), and going to jazz performances tonight there. The visit went very well, S was on his own for most of it. He observed Bob Moses’ ensemble today. We all met briefly with Ken Schaphorst, and W and I took the tour while S was observing rehearsal. He also met up with a friend who attends Northeastern at Starbucks.

He is ready to sign on the line for NEC, we’re on board. I’ll report the results on cc forum when back home. Thanks to all on cc for info and insights that are second to none!!

OH, my Bob Moses is such a unique teacher! Your son had a good time I’m sure. Continue to have a good visit!
