I am a sophomore in SPanish III right now and I really don't want to take another year of Spanish, but I still want to remain competitive for top colleges - namely HYPSM and the Ivies. My main worry with taking another year is not only my lack of interest but also the fact that I will have a killer schedule next year as a junior and that the Spanish IV is taught at the level of AP, according to the teacher.

Here are my classes

AP Calculus AB
AP English Language
AP Chemistry (!!!!)
AP US History
Physics Honors

College Classes at local university (CSU):
Semester 1: Psychobiology
Semester 2: Game Theory

Additional info (EC's):
Robotics after school on Mondays and Fridays
Piano

yes, AP bio is a lab science. and i thinkfogcity is saying that two lab sciences in a year isn’t the best approach because it’s focusing a lot of your time on one subject when during your junior year you should be putting that focus on all your academics. taking two sciences is detracting from your ability to take a 4th year of spanish (which you really should take for top schools), so it might not be the best idea for you.

At my school Spanish IV is a joke. Basically all you do is relearn everything you did in Spanish III plus a whole bunch of unnecessary projects. Your better off with AP Spanish Language if you really want to continue with foreign language or you can take some other AP class that interests you.
