Necessity of the US History SAT II?

<p>Hi, I'm a junior currently enrolled in APUSH and I'm wondering whether I should take the US History SAT Subject Test. It sounds like it shouldn't be too much work seeing as I have to study for the AP test anyway.</p>

<p>However, I think taking the SAT II for US History may be unnecessary. If I take the AP test and get a 5, why should I have to worry about the SAT II?</p>

<p>So my question is, should I take an SAT Subject test if I already got a 5 on the AP test for that subject?</p>

<p>Some universities require you to have two-three SAT Subject tests completed, regardless of whether you've taken the AP exam. So yes, if you think you can do well on the US History test with minimal additional prep since you're also writing the AP, you should write the SAT Subject so you can get one of the requirements out of the way.</p>
