Registration is coming up soon for spring term and I might need a 1 cr hr course to help fill my class schedule. Any general studies type course recommendations would be welcomed. Thank you.

Do you like computers?

I just took COP3353 at FSU (Intro to UNIX) which is 1 credit hour. I’m not sure if they offer it for Spring though.

Take a PE or exercise class…

I am amazed a UNIX class is worth only 1 credit hour. I took a COBOL class decades ago that was a huge amount of work. It may have been 4 hours.

UNIX sounds kinda heavy duty for 1 credit! I was thinking something more along the line of “the history of UNICORNS.” I never thought about PE or exercise–that’s a good idea! I always wanted to learn tennis, maybe that’d work; but I won’t do sky diving. Too, maybe first aid courses are offered, I have to get recertifications for things like CPR etc. every couple of years. Registration I think opens Oct 17 for me so I have some time to find something. Thanks for the suggestions.

There aren’t any CPR courses as a class, but you can take them…I took one with the FSU athletic department, it took about 4-5 hours to complete. I took bowling as a fun one-credit hour. Met some cool people too!

You’re not the only person who was surprised that the UNIX class is only 1 credit. Honestly, it made life a bit challenging for me since I only wanted to take 2 classes this semester, but needed at least 6 credit hours to maintain part-time status.
