I took the ACT's on Saturday for the 3rd time this year, and I do not think that I will improve very much. I got a 21 and 22 on my first two tests, respectively, and I anticipate this upcoming test to be in that same area. However, I would say that I'm an exceptional student in school (3.92 GPA, many honors courses) and a relatively good test taker. I only took a practice test for math, but I studied the other sections thoroughly prior to taking the test. Also, my reading comprehension is below average, and I seem to lose sight of the subject in hand while reading the passages. Any hints or tips on how to get my score into the 30s would great.

Did you just study? If you did, that’s not enough. You have to practice. Take some practice tests. That will give you a sense of what you really need to accomplish over a certain period of time, and how you could improve yourself.
I took a bunch of practice tests and it really helped me to raise my score.

Practice tests are important, so you can see how you’re able to apply what you’ve studied to an actual test. I would also advise against reading the passages(maybe quickly skim through them).

RDRb is probably suggesting not reading the passages on the science section.

^^ 45, I meant both the science AND reading section.

i tried skimming the passage this time, but it seemed to have made it worse. i think just speed-reading the passage would work better for me.

on the other hand, would you guys suggest princeton review or barron’s?

Definitely PR. I got Barron’s and tried to use it but it is so much more difficult than the actual tests… PR is good for studying, but nothing can replace the Real ACT on the practice tests.
