Need a better understanding about UCSD GRANT-IN-AID

<p>Recently UCSD FA office had issued out the money.
Then I realize I only have $862 (and paid to date $287) for UCSD GRANT-IN-AID.
I am wondering how is this aid offered? Is this based on GPA?
I have a friend who recieved Paid to Date $4000+ on this, while I only have <$300</p>

<p>Right now I still have quite a lot of balance that I need to pay....this is really frustrating.(plus my mom passed away this summer...with a huge medical bills...what a life)</p>

<p>Aid is based on EFC. What was your FAFSA EFC? </p>

<p>You may need to ask for an professional judgment adjustment due to medical bills, funeral costs, etc. </p>

<p>you’ll need to provide documentation of medical bills uncovered by insurance. Also bring funeral bills.</p>
