I consider myself pretty average as a student. I do not have any major EC's but I do work part time sometime for a local community college teaching continuing education(non credit) computer classes and I do volunteer for them often as well.
I've got a 3.111 unweighted and a 3.636 weighted gpa(crap from freshman year but 4.0 this year will bring that up to probably a 4.0+ weighted). My scores are a 28 on the ACT and a 1760 on SAT(took junior year, no prep, sticking with ACT) Haven't taken any SAT II subject tests. I've planned to be an engineer since around the age of 10 or so. I am an extremely need based student. Don't have any hook that I can think of, the only thing slightly hook-like is my now deceased brother was the second highest security level of the Air Force in the 463rd airlift command squadron, a basic genius type guy.

What are my chances at some of these colleges:
University of Central Florida (UCF)
University of South Florida(USF)
University of Florida(UF)
Rensselaer Poly in NY
Embry Riddle Aeronautical, Daytona Campus
Penn State University
Cornell (long shot)
Texas A&M
Georgia Tech

I live in Florida. Any other colleges or universities I should also be looking at? Help there would be appreciated as well. Something I have a chance at getting into.

University of Central Florida - Match
University of South Florida- Match/In
University of Florida-Match
Rensselaer Poly in NY- Reach
Embry Riddle Aeronautical, Daytona Campus- Low Reach/Match because of the closeness of the index borderline
Penn State University- Reach
Cornell (long shot)- High Reach
Texas A&M- High Shot ( very good school)

Have you applied to Purdue though highly competative the GPA requirements are not that bad for the college of arts and sciences for engineering its going to be tougher unless your math and science grades are good, Northeaster, or even Drexel, also look into Georgia Tech which is a reach but well worth it for the ranking…
