I had recently got kicked out of cal state fresno , i have a really bad gpa currently 1.3 . I currently owe fresno state around 5k for leaving the dorms half way through the year because it was so expensive . But apparently it was a signed thing in the fafsa so i have to pay for it and since now i left i have to pay it in order to get my transcript to transfer but all i would be transfering is terrible grades, also all i have for credits is 19 so basically still a freshmen . Could i persay just apply as a freshmen here in south carolina since neither schools are apart of the NCS which send transcripts for free . Cant i just do that apply as a freshmen and since i get instate i dont really need the fafsa . So the question that needs answering can i jutst start over ive read that some people have been able to do this . And i cant grt a loan to pay my debt because since im not in school my fedloan came in and shitted all on my credit score so i couldnt even apply . What are my options?
You need to find a way to pay what you owe to Fresno State so that you can get your transcript.
You will need that transcript when you apply anywhere as a degree candidate. Yes, some places (such as many community colleges) will allow you to enroll for one or two classes at a time as a non-degree student without giving them your previous transcripts. However, when you do become a degree candidate, then you will have to get all of your previous transcripts to them.
To be perfectly honest, if you owe Fresno State 5k, where do you think the money will come from for studying anywhere else? Get a job. Pay off that debt. Get your act together so that when you can afford to go back to college you won’t be earning grades like the ones you have in the past.
Unfortunately, you can’t just start over. Colleges have databases they can check to see if you’re lying or not. If/when they do find out, you can be in trouble. When you transfer, you have to send all past college transcripts. So, you have to find a way to pay that 5K to Fresno. That can be accomplished through a job. This can also slowly get your credit up if you work hard. Once you pay off your debt to Fresno, you’re home free to get the transcript transferred and return to school somewhere.
Schools check your info here: http://www.studentclearinghouse.org/
Not all schools though I checked only the ones that paid for the service .
Even if they don’t use the student clearing house, if they ever find out that you didn’t provide your transcripts when you were supposed to, they can deny admissions, expel you (and you will end up owing them a bunch of money for tuition/fees/whatever), and even nullify your credits and your degree after you have completed the program and believe that you have graduated. Yes. Every single year that sort of thing happens to students who colleges and universities consider to have committed a serious breach of academic integrity.
So, quit trying to find a work-around. Pay off Fresno. Then when you have that transcript, go back to college.
I assume that is your picture above your user name? Is that wise given your question. Also, anyone that checks your credit will see Fresno on there
Although you want relief, the real world just doesn’t work that way. If it were so, what would stop you from going to 10 different schools, owing thousands to each? That’s why an auto repair shop keeps your car inside their garage – so you don’t show up and drive it away w/o paying the bill. Same thing with Fresno holding your transcript and your unpaid bill. No one will admit you – and they WILL check. I’m sorry for your bad first semester but there’s no skirting it – you need to seek some relief – maybe spk w/them and get a settlement (for less than 100% of what’s owed)? Good luck to you.
