Need a little Help..

People, I need help from all of you. Please answer a few of my queries..I am an international student aiming to reach a college in USA to pursue mechanical engineering.

I am doing AP + IB certificate.
AP subjects :- Physics C: Mechanics, Physics C: Electricity and magnetism, calculus BC, Macroeconomics, Microeconomics, Chemistry. These subjects will be spread across two years/exam sessions :- May '09 and May '10.
IB certificate courses: - Physics HL, Maths HL, Chemistry SL, Bahasa Indonesia (second language) SL, Economics SL. Is it ok if i do Chemistry SL and not HL for engineering?

How difficult are AP exams according to you? Is AP chemistry equivalent to IB chemistry SL or IB chemistry HL? Is Princeton review the best publisher for AP and SAT exams?

On top of this, I'm also doing a course compulsory in my school that is affiliated with CBSE.

Now, firstly, is it fine for me not to do any English course in IB or AP. Will this be detrimental for me, an international student, to get into US (i will do SAT in jan 09,and i will also do TOEFL)? I have also done IGCSE and attained A in English.

What are college credits? What is cost per credit hour? For substantial scholarships from midiocre colleges like South Dakota State University, what scores would you recommend?

THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!!!

Do the courses you are taking count as both APs and IBs? (E.g. is AP Chemistry the same course as IB Chemistry SL?) If yes, why bother with two sets of exams? If not, why take both courses?

I would recommend you work on becoming a top athlete because otherwise public universities are not going to give you any money.

Can I use 2008 AP princetonreview books for 2009 exams?

Yeah, you can
