I’ve had my Vitamix 3600 for 31 years and it’s still going strong. This is the old kind with the steel base and steel container, and only 2 speeds. That thing is a workhorse!
There are lots of used ones on eBay for not a lot of money…

My sister bought a vitamix on eBay for a song. It was very very lightly used…and it still IS very lightly used. It’s quite large, and heavy. She thought she would use it everyday to make healthy smoothies, and other things…but she has a Nutrabullet she uses for many things…and an immersion blender.
She has offered the Vitamix to my other sisters and me repeatedly and we have all declined…because it’s just too big. It would either take up a ton of counter space, or cabinet space, or pantry shelf space.
So…you need to really think about what you want to use your blender for…and buy something that will do what you need it to do.
We also had an Oster (which we seldom used so we gave it to a friend). It was a great blender.
