Need a sense of direction

Hello,

I am relatively new here and I was aware that this is one of the best places to come for help. Essentially, I was always a low- to mid-90s student until I got very depressed for about 70% of last year (sophomore year). My high school overall gpa is probably about a 91 (give or take a half a point). I am sure, in this sort of community, I am below average. However, I am confident, based on PSAT scores and the belief that I will improve a bit, that I can get anywhere from a 2000+ on my SAT. I am aware that my sophomore year struck a decent blow, so I am looking for a range of schools that I should aim for. I have several solid extracurriculars and I excel in computer science (my planned major). I was hoping to be able to get about a 95 through this year, but my depression was a major factor in stopping those odds.

I don't mean to be too long-winded in this, so if there is anything else you would like to know, feel free to ask.

Thanks for any assistance.

First of all, relax. You will be in fine shape to get into many outstanding colleges. The most important thing is to get the help you need to stay healthy.

I don’t know what type of school you want so think about your financial situation (talk to your parents) think about if you want a large/small/midsize school, if you want a real technical engineering school or a broader school, where you want to go to college (part of country/rural/suburban/urban), and any other parameters that are important to you. If you don’t know then visit some different types of schools to see what feels right to you.
