I got accepted ED, so surely I can help!

Hello! I have a question about JHU’s supplement. Are the “Essays that Worked” on their website responses to the Common App question? And, eps96, how did you approach this year’s supplement? Did you address your majors? I just forwarded my essay to a friend, and she said I am as eloquent as a 60-year-old man, which isn’t great at all. I was wondering if your supplement was more of a story? Thanks!

It wasn’t a story, I did talk about my potential major and was very specific about what major i wanted, what clubs i would join, and where i could see myself becoming involved on and off campus (i even named specific places). the key is specificity. really show that you’ve done your research on the school. pretend you’re convincing them, and use evidence (evidence being certain aspects of the school) to back up why you can see yourself there and how you’d fit in.

Thank you! Would it be too much if I also discussed my second major choice, or is it better to just stick with my first major?

Given the fact that you only have 500 words or so, I’d stick to the one you can speak most about and feel more passionate about.
