Need advice about midterm grade

I sent in my midterm report before the April 1 deadline with grades for three of my four classes. For the fourth class, we've only had one graded assignment, a paper, and it wasn't due until April 6. The admissions staff at the schools I'm applying to said that I could just send in the grade when it becomes available, but the professor doesn't seem like he's going to finish grading these papers anytime soon. I'm just wondering how long I should wait to get the grade and send it in, or if I should just have the professor write in the comments section on a second copy of the midterm report that he doesn't have any grades for me yet. I'm worried about keeping the schools waiting for too long...

What do you think would be appropriate? Any advice is appreciated.

In your place, I would call my schools and ask them what they’d like for you to do. If your semester ends pretty soon, then I doubt there’d be much point in getting the grade now, you know? Then again, if your semester still has a month or so left, you may want to go ahead and get it.

Like I said, I’d call the schools and ask what they’d prefer.

P.S. Nice username :)
