Need advice for going back to college. Please help.

Hello everyone I am at a crossroad right now. I really need to change my life right now and I think going back to college is the right path. Here is a little about me.

I have a 2 year degree in CIS at a Community College with a 3.09 GPA and I haven't done anything with it. I graduated in Dec 2007. Right now I work full time at a place that doesn't have anything to do with CIS or computers at all and I want to change that.

If I were to go back to college I would want to go for Computer Science. Also I need to do it completely online. I took a bunch of online classes before and liked them a lot. With my 2 year degree in CIS would I be able to transfer my credits into Computer Science?

Is this even a good idea or should I just start getting certified for things like A+ Network+ and then looking for a job with a 2 year degree plus the certifications?

I've been looking at some online colleges but I'm not sure if colleges like Baker Online are good or not.

Any advice or guidance would be grateful. Thanks for your time.

I would suggest that you start by contacting the transfer counselor at your old community college. That person’s whole job is just to help students find the best place to transfer to. It also would make sense for you to talk with the instructors in your old department. They know which degrees are considered to be legitimate in that industry, and they should also be able to give you useful advice.
