Need Advice for Major decision!

I am currently a sophomore in a community college majoring in Biological sciences. I was thinking about going into a physician assistant program, however, I do not have the most patience with people at times. So, I have been reassessing my educational path. I enjoy the sciences because I love solving puzzles and actually feeling like I'm doing something. I also love studying history simply because it's interesting to me. I was thinking about changing my major to Anthropology. My understanding is that anthropology is a broad spectrum of sciences and history, both things that I love! Depending on the facet of anthropology that one studies in grad school, you can get the best of both worlds: the application of history and the application of science. I've been doing some research and there are fields such as medical, physical and forensic anthropology that include biological aspects in conjunction with the cultural aspects. This peaks my interest--I can get the enjoyment and satisfaction that I seek from my studies/future job without having to drive myself insane and using every ounce of patience that I have.

However, I feel as though I am romanticizing the field too much so some advice from current students or graduates as to what studying anthropology is really like. Can anyone shed some light on this for me?

I got my UG degree in physical anthropology eons ago. It’s a very interesting field, ranging from primate behavior to evolution to molecular techniques.

One thing you need to understand is that Anthropology of any kind is primarily an academic subject, and the vast majority of jobs are at universities, require a PhD and are not abundant.
