Need advice from runners.

I have this weak feeling in my knees after I run. I can't even walk, for about 10 minutes afterwards.

Does anyone have a clue what this is? I know I should see a doctor, but I'm not an experienced runner so I was hoping it's just a phase you go through which I don't know anything about.

My friend suggested it's early signs of arthritis D:...

i used to get this after my really long runs. it just means your legs are weak right now, it goes away after a while. at least for me it did. do your knees sort of shake a little bit too, like they're a little wobbly?

Yeah! They sort of sake.

Alright, so it's kind of common. Thanks.

i get this every damn day- go home and take a bath in cold water

Cold water? Last time I checked warm water helped muscles more.

are you really sore after you run?
this happens to me like every time I have to do bleachers

and what's up with the cold water? stretch, take a warm water bath, stretch some more if you're sore

and don't over-exert yourself!

edit: "icing" helps.

Warm first, for 5-10 minutes, then cold for however long you want.

Sort of like a backwards IcyHot patch...tub.

I'm not sure after I run, it's just this feeling in my knees like I went downhill at full speed and killed my legs.

I'll try to stretch more. =</p>

so you don't have any soreness the day after, or anything like that?

IT Band Syndrome.

It's pretty serious. Look it up and see if it matches with what you feel.

D: as if the Arthritis scare wasn't bad enough..
Eh, I'll ask my coach about it then see a doctor.

Nope, I'm not sore the day after.

im pretty sure its just some muscle weakness, seriously. how long and how fast do you run before that happens? i used to have that falling feeling whenever i would run really fast for short distances or just run moderately for really long distances. do your knees actually hurt, or is it just that weak feeling? if they dont actually hurt, then its just that your muscles arent used to it. it happens if you lift weights too. for example, if you benchpress, as soon as you stop, your arms feel really weak afterwards.

Fast for short distances..hm. Oh, it might be because I'm doing sprints in Track. Usually I do 6 150's and some other stuff each day.

Yeah, it's just that weak feeling but no actual pain like that.

it just means you worked your muscles. if you suddenly feel a jabbing pain in your knees or shins, THEN you're screwed.

lol yea exactly ^

lol, Shin Splints?

Alright, thanks for the help. Phew...I'm not going to retire without even starting. xD....hopefully.

Yeah... your muscles are just weak now. Take it a bit slower, and the weakness should eventually go away.

ice is nice hot is not
