I am a freshman who plans to major in bio and am currently on a pre-med track and from most people I've talked to, they tell me its nearly impossible to maintain a 4.0 throughout your 4 years in college. However, I'm quite determined to do whatever is necessary to achieve a 4.0. I know how crucial it is to maintain a high GPA for acceptance into medical school and my paranoia for a perfect GPA is partly due to an older peer of mine who graduated from John Hopkins with a 2.9 GPA. He graduated with a biology major and all he's doing right now is tutoring kids. Even though he scored a 33 on his MCATs, he was rejected by most Med schools because of his low GPA.

So, for alumni's of bing or for those who are nearly done with their time at Bing,
What are some tips and advices that you may have on my path for perfection?

I am a neuroscience major. I have a couple tips
Visit your professor’s office hours. THIS IS CRUCIAL!! They give out exam freebie questions!
Get a tutor. You can sign up for one in CIW library. Very helpful because they have gone through the class before
Have at least 1 study buddy in each of your classes.
4)Obviously, don’t cram for exams. Especially in that bio117/118 class.
I’ve learned that if you look over your notes w/in 24hrs of learning it in lecture, you will retain more of it than if you looked at it the week of exams.

Good luck! A 4.0 is possible. A 3.7 is managable and just as respectable. I am a pre-health student and a gpa of 3.5 is sufficient for medical school. Good luck! You will most likely be with prehealth students since you’ll be in science classes. Make friends quick!
