Need Advice on Business School

Hello - this is my first post on college confidential for several years (actually since undergrad admissions). I've since graduated from the University of Michigan with a bachelors in Aerospace Engineering (GPA 3.491) and was hired into a leadership development program for a large corporation. I have worked for the company for about 3 years now in Texas. I'm interested in moving back to Michigan for a job with a different company. I was also planning on getting an MBA soon and I was debating whether or not to get a part-time MBA from Michigan while working.

Here are some concerns I have:

Will it be frowned upon that I am getting an MBA from the same school I got my engineering degree from?

Although Michigan is a highly ranked school for graduate business studies, will a part-time MBA actually be worth it or should I go full-time?

I've noticed that Michigan's business school has slipped in US News & World Report's rankings - Is it still considered an elite business school or should I aim higher?

Please let me know what you think or if you have any comments. Thanks!

I don’t think it matters all that much…as long as you have taken some time off.

If you’ve got a job on the side, part-time may very well be the way to go.

I’ve heard nothing but good things about Ross, I have a couple of friends who have had positive things to say about it.

Not sure if this helps, but hope it does.

The degree will be the same FT and PT, but the strength of the alumni network will be different. If that matters for you, a FT option leads to the strongest relationships later in life. PT students are already focused on work and life matters so school gets less focus than from their FT counterparts. You’ll get a great education either way.

The slipped rankings don’t matter. When (non-applicant) people think of Ross and other schools, they say “good school” or “great school”, they don’t say the school’s ranking has slipped a few places.
