Hi everyone, I'm in a huge dilemma and would really appreciate everyone's advice:

so... I am about to graduate from a 5 year undergrad program in economics and geography from a b-school in Canada (Waterloo), and I know I want to complete a MA and/or PhD, but I am overwhelmed .

My favourite economics course by far was development economics, and that's what I am passionate about, and I know I want to do development work as my career. BUT, I don't just want to be stuck in an office working theory, I want to be doing field work as often as I can.

In short: I love development economics and everything related to development (health, nutrition, aid), I want to do significant amounts of field work, and most importantly: I want to work directly with people (I've had too many office jobs).

Or perhaps, from what I want to do, such a postgraduate program in Economics doesn't even exist? Are there MAs or PhD's in the areas of poverty sociology or something similar? Or perhaps an applied nutrition or global health program?

My stats:

GPA 3.90

18 months work experience, including work for a medium-sized consulting firm and economic research at the government

2 Letters of Recommendation: both from development economics professors

I'm lost , so I would really appreciate anyone's advice and opinion on this. Thank you in advance!

All the best!
