Need Advice on my problem with college tuition

Can you afford Community College summer school?

^^That might not help the GPA. Some schools add in the transferred gpa, some don’t.

If you’re asking me, I’d worry about the debt than the GPA effect. The CC sounds viable because you get the credit at a cheaper price. After school is long over, GPA becomes an irrelevant number, replaced by years of work and experience, but the debt might still stay.

When you apply to grad school, you will need to send all of your college transcripts. The admissions office there will have its own way of evaluating your records from the various places you have studied, and will re-average everything according to its own system.

Before you take classes at the CC, find out whether or not they can be applied toward your degree at your regular college/university. If they won’t apply toward your degree, you will have to think about whether or not to spend your money on classes that no one will look at until you apply to grad school some day.

@twoinanddone I thought that OP had given up on their GPA nudge and was just trying to stay on track with courses.

Once you apply to OT programs via OTCAS, you will need to report every class ever taken at every institution you have attended. All grades will be included in the GPA calculation.

^see the OTCAS coursework FAQ in the link above.

^so, for OTCAS purpose, you can retake some classes at a CC, or “pretake” a similar but not identical class, or take easy classes at a CC, and these grades will be counted into your nex OTCAS GPA.

@twoinanddone Got it bro, @gearmom Yes I could afford Community college and will take 1 or 2 electives that give me credits for my major requirements (common core). @AngelFoxtrot I will go to CC better choice for electives than going in debt and struggling to pay it in future. ITs only freshman year I can improve my grades by a lot next 3 years. I am not behind and missed 1 class I couldn’t take. If I need to I will retake a class during the year since I can go to CC for a few requirements. @gearmom I will try to get my GPA up, but if I struggle I will focus on staying on course most importantly to graduate on time. @mommdc and @MYOS1634 I will try to look at the OT programs that sounds interesting and a good back up plan, thanks. Appreciate the help, may God ease our difficulties.
