Need advice on retaking a course

Hello everyone. I'm going to be a 5th year in electrical engineering this coming fall and I hope it will be my last year. I took my entire 4th year off because I was diagnosed with a pretty bad case of major depressive disorder. I'm still learning to get back on my feet and continuing therapy.

Although I do have a medical reason for my leave, I'm really concerned about how it has affected my undergrad career. Its been nearly 1 year since I've touched any engineering textbook ...
My question is should I retake a very important class (linear electronics 1) that I don't feel confident in or should I just "man up" and struggle through linear electronics 2? I know lots of people who have done poorly in LE1 and just worked their butt off and got through LE2. However, I don't want to be one of those people. I would like to apply to phd programs in engineering after I get my bachelors. Would graduate schools look down on me for retaking a course just to relearn the material? I got a B- in LE1 the first time around so getting a better grade would not boost my gpa that much anyway.
Note: my school replaces the old grade with the new one if I retake it

What are you going to do over the summer?
Do you still have the textbook and the notes?

I was diagnosed with depression when I was a senior in HS. You can definitely overcome it. Just go out more often :]
