I’m a high school junior who’s conflicted about what classes I should take next year. I want to do neuroscience in college, and I don’t know whether I should take AP Biology or AP Chem next year. Many people have told me to take AP Bio since it pertains more to neuroscience. However, the AP Bio class at my school is horrible. The teacher is extremely disorganized and difficult and her tests are extremely hard. Some of the smartest people at my school take that class and no one is able to get an A, barely a B. While the AP Chem class is difficult as well, it is definitely more manageable than AP Bio, from what I’ve heard. This makes me want to take AP Chem instead, as I’m already taking on a heavy AP courseload in general next year. However, I’m afraid that colleges won’t see my resume as strong for a neuroscience major as I’ve only taken one bio class (honors) and I got a B in it.
If anyone has advice on which class I should take, please let me know. Thank you!
No college will have a preference for AP Bio vs. AP Chem. So take the one that has the better teacher/that you will get a better grade/that has more success on the AP scores/choose your own parameter.
I agree…either would be fine…take AP Chem because it has the better teacher.
