Need advice on Senior Schedule!

Hello CC. I need your help.

I have to make a decision soon. I just changed some of my courses and my schedule looks like this.

1st Semester

  1. AP Gov
  2. AP English
  3. AP Calc
  4. DE Teacher Cadet

2nd Semester

  1. legal issues (elective)*
  2. AP English
  3. AP Calc
  4. AP Chemistry

Required to graduate: AP Chem, AP Gov, AP English (unable to switch out/to lower levels).

Side note: Need AP Calc to be competitive for colleges.

*I dropped AP Euro for legal issues, but I am having second thoughts. History is my strong suit and I love it in all forms. However, would four APs in one semester be too much? It would also be an online class.

Also, the problem with Legal Issues is that it is new and will have a new teacher (we have a history of bad first hires who always quit before year end). It will also likely be with people I dont know.

AP Euro is online and I will take it in silence (seclusion room). My friend is also taking it so that is a plus. I think it will end up being like self-study.

Will it be too much though? I really appreciate the advice.

TL; DR

  • 4 AP classes in one semester? Is that too much? Would an elective replacement be a good idea even if it could be a bad environment?
  • Also, math and science are my weak areas. If that helps.

Thanks.

In my opinion, four AP classes in one semester is not too many. My senior year of high school, I was able to successfully take 4 AP’s, 2 electives, 1 elective before school, and 1 AP online. I actually think online classes are easier, but require a little more reading. If you want to take AP Euro, I would take it. If it is something that you are actually interested in, your grade will reflect it, regardless if the class is online or not. Overall, it really depends on the person. If you think you might be able to handle that many AP classes at one time, then go for it.

4 APs is fine. Take AP Euro since you are interested in the material.
Overall doesn’t look like an impossible schedule (rigorous but not killer).
