Need Advice on Transferring

Hi,

Just an introduction- I am currently in a possible transfer student in college and will have 61 credits after this semester. I applied to UVA and Cornell for the spring semester as an economics major- I got into UVA, but was rejected from Cornell. While UVA is a good school, I am not sure the economics program is worth their tremendous price (Which I can afford with loans, but will be very difficult)- and since there acceptance rate is fairly low in Spring (15%), I feel as if I may have better options if I wait until the fall (Given that I may be able to get into schools with 15-20% Transfer acceptance rating.

My dilemma is that I am not sure what to do in Spring, assuming I don’t attend UVA. I can either continue to take classes (Which won’t really make sense for me, since I have 61 credits and the other credits will likely hurt my chances or will just be not counted by the next university.

My other option is a possible internship in the field or studying/interning abroad, while taking a semester off. I heard that taking a semester off will severely hurt my chances in regards to transferring.

Any advice will be appreciated,

Thanks

The third choice is to stay at your current school and graduate.

@happy1 My current school doesn’t have an excellent economics program, and I’m not too happy here, so it’s not an option I’d really consider. I am enrolled for next semester and will be able to go on leave for an Internship and still be enrolled.
