Need Advice Please

i'm a freshman at gwu and i really don't like it. I love DC but i feel very different from the student body and it is a lot more fratty than I thought. I'm going to stick it out spring semester and not worry about transferring for the fall but i don't know if i want to go back for spring 2013.

As of now I have a 2.9 gap, which I know isn't good but first semester is a tough adjustment. My major is criminal justice right now but I'm not really sure that's what I want. I have a job, I'm in the college democrats and I'm in Hillel.

I want a big change so I was thinking Vassar or Sarah Lawrence. However financial aid is also a real issue and I'm getting a full ride at GW. Are there any LACs in the northeast with good financial aid for transfers?

Transfer student does not get the same fa as a frosh. So you may have to consider that, perhaps stay at GWU will be the best bet.

at gpa 2.9, you won’t be able to transfer up, even if you want to transfer you should try to pull up the grade before the attempt, otherwise, you are throwing money away.

Have you considered John Jay@CUNY for CJ major.

While it is true that transfers often don’t get as good FA as fr admits, it varies by school. Some schools, including NE LACs, give the same FA to all entering students, but these are usually the most selective schools. You need to check the FA webpages for the schools you’re interested in.

When you say ‘full ride’, do you mean merit aid, need based FA, or a combination?
