I just got my SATs back and the total was 2090 :( but mainly because the writing section brought me down.
CR: 700
Math: 740
Writing: 650 (64 MC, 9 essay (! ugh....))
If I retake it, which I will, I know I can get higher score.

I was thinking of applying EA, but don't think that my SATs will make the cut. I want to retake it before the EA deadline, but have 4 SAT IIs to take in Oct/Nov making it quite impossible. Anyways, do you guys still think I should try the EA for Yale? Or go for RD OR...try another great, but still not as awesome school?
(I'd say my resume is reasonably well-rounded)

Those scores are going to make it harder, but not impossible, to get into Yale. Whether you apply EA or RD doesn't make a difference in my opinion, although the pool of applicants may be more impressive EA, as about a thousand of the best get removed before RD.
You can (can in italics...) get into Yale with those scores. Its far from unprecedented, but you should have a super (98+?) transcript, probably interview, and have some massive extra curriculars. And great recs and essays.
In reality, if everything else is great, the SATs aren't that important. Nevertheless, i personally would feal REALLY uncomfortable applying to Yale w. a 2090. But how much do I know about college?

Good luck!

Hey, thnx.
I personally DO feel quite uncomfortable applying with a low score (hence, my dilemma)... but am afraid getting accepted RD even with a higher SAT score will be even more impossible. Perhaps this is just rumors though, but I heard that applying EA gives you a greater chance of getting in..unluckily, I didn't get the scores I needed/wanted this may. In any way- if I decided to give EA a shot, and then get turned down, could I try again with my new SATs or would it make no diff.?

Oh and here are my other stats... I'd like to know whether with such low scores and these types of credentials I am just getting unrealistic.

Unweighted GPA: 3.7 :( not very pleasing, I know. (Did badly in Spanish B-/B)Weighted: 3.9 (do the IB)
School, Private international school in Milan, does not rank but assuming, as the school is very small.... top 1-5% (am a U.S citizen)

And a short summary (I have some more)
Piano - BUTI- Tanglewood
Carnegie Hall
Performance at Embassy (Slovakian)
2 State Competitions (1st and 2nd Prize)
President of Service Club (participant throughout high school years)
Organized a fundraising event for Congo
Model United Nations.... and some various others.

You have two more chances to take SAT or SAT 2 for early action consideration. One in October and one in early November

On the yale website it says:

November 4, 2006
Last test date on which SAT I or SAT II Subject Tests may be taken for Single-Choice Early Action consideration. Although we cannot guarantee that scores will arrive in time to be considered by the Admissions Committee, we expect to receive them in time, just as we have in recent years.

Hey yeah, I saw the dates before.. only I have to take 3 SAT II's and the SAT I again- and I don't think I'll be able to pull off taking 3 SAT IIs in a day

Most people that I know take 3 SAT II's in a day.

Yea. nvm not taking 3 sat 2s in a day. Re-thought my plan ...
