Hi everyone. I normally post in the transfer treads but I thought you all would be more helpful on this issue.

I'm a student at a CA community college and I was recently rejected from UCLA. I am diagnosed ADD and I've been struggling with it my whole life. My HS grades were low (2.7 hs gpa) and I didn't make friends well so I felt that I wasn't ready to leave home yet. I chose to go to a CC in hopes of transferring in.

Fast forward three years, my grades have been exponentially improving to the point that I consistently get mostly As. I've been really involved outside of the classroom and was elected student body president, amongst other achievements. On top of that, I completed a set of honors classes that made me eligible for UCLA's transfer alliance program (called UCLA TAP). Students at my college with UCLA TAP have a 92% acceptance rate.

So it came as a surprise to me when I was rejected. I called UCLA and it said it was because of my GPA and that the major I applied for, econ, was impacted.

In my appeal, I revealed that I was diagnosed ADD (which I hadn't done in my application) and how I didn't take advantage of the special accommodations because I wanted to perform on a level playing field without drawing attention to my ADD. My recommendations came from my college president and letter written by two business professors and a note from my pediatrician.

So my question to all of you here is, do you think my appeal includes "new and compelling" information and do you think it has a chance at being successful?
