Hello peeps,

I've been admitted to both UCLA and UCSD, but I need your advice in helping me choose where to transfer.

I visited UCLA the other day, and was unimpressed. Don't get me wrong, it's a beautiful place, but it didn't feel right. UCSD, however was much more appealing. Additionally, as a poli-sci major i'm inclined to choose UCSD as the school has a reputable, and stronger poli-sci dept, than UCLA.

But, here's the kicker, I'm planning on going to law school after i graduate. There seems to be more graduates from UCLA going to T14 law schools, than graduates from UCSD.

So, is there anyone out there that can show/tell/prove there is good amount of UCSD graduates getting admitted to law schools such as Harvard, Yale, etc.?

What are your thoughts?

Just curious have you been to UCSD? To me it seemed like a huge concrete parking lot with bus stops lol

Edit: similar situation, want to do law school after. I’d suggest visiting both you might just see you like one more than the other

go to ucla! undergraduate poli sci programs wont carry too much weight… I went to ucsd for a year (poli sci major) and it was a good program (left due to health issues). don’t turn down ucla based solely on program strength they seem relatively the same.

You can still get into law schools regardless if you went to SD or LA. The law schools care about one thing: LSAT + GPA

Doesn’t really matter what undergrad you go to if you’re thinking of Grad school like Law. BUT People tend to go to the less rigorous schools in order to get a higher GPA which leads to a better grad school.

If you want to go to law school, then the undergraduate school won’t matter at all. get a good gpa+lsat from any college and you can get into a good law school.
