Need advice: visa for China study abroad

D will be in China for the fall semester. Her study-abroad program will obtain a student visa for her, or she can obtain it independently. The complicating factor is that D wants to travel to South Korea during the program's fall break to visit a cousin who is in Seoul teaching English. The problem is that the study abroad program advises that the Chinese consolate regularly issues only single-entry visas and that she should not count on getting a multiple-entry visa. If I thought she would be able to get a mulitple-entry visa by going herself, we would do that (there is a consolate office not too far from where we live). On the other hand, if she is not going to be able to get a multiple-entry visa either, I'd save the trip and let the program get the visa.

Any tips about how to obtain a multiple-entry student visa?

It is getting harder to get a multiple entry visa, but you should try. I would go in person to the consulate, so that if they say no, you can get the single entry. It’s easy enough to get another China visa when she’s in Seoul, though depending how long she’s there for she may have to pay an express processing fee.

I have no specific advice on this situation, but I have had some complicated visa situations handled very well by [Secure Your Travel Visas and US Passports for Business Travel and Tourism with CIBT | The Visa and Passport Professionals](http://www.cibt.com).
