Need advice. What do you think?

If I major in Business (Finance/Entrepreneurship) and minor in Political science will it increase my chances of getting a better job, is this combination better than just business? And why?

Thanks

If you go to an elite school (Ivy, Stanford, MIT), you don't have to worry about what you major is. Just get good grades, and you will easily get a lot of interviews. If you go to an average school, you should major in accounting or, to a lesser extent, finance. The political science is not needed, but it may show some employers that you had a "well-rounded" education. If the minor adversely affects your GPA, then don't do it.

No it is not. Political science offers little practical implications in most corporate settings. If you want to do finances for a political campaign or something it might be useful though.

Thank you leo187um and Mike.

Any other ideas?

It will not help you. If you have some special interest in political science then go for it though.

On a side note, I think many employers would be wary of someone with a "Entrepreneurship" degree given that an entrepreneur prefers to work for himself and typically won't work for "the man" as long as normal employees. However, finance is obviously good, and you can always sell yourself as someone that will be a dedicated employee.
