I'm taking ERG C100 right now. There are alot of assigned readings but I'm wondering if it's necessary to read them all? It sounds like most of them are just supplementary. More than half came from some sort of article or portion of some book. I'm considering just reading the ones assigned on the textbook but I don't know if it's a good idea. This is my first semester here. Thanks for any advice

It depends on the course. If you want to be safe, read them all. And if you are interested enough to be taking the course, you might find the readings to be interesting by themselves and want to read them anyway.

Sometimes, I don’t even buy the book. I just don’t read unless there is an essay or a test directly referring to the content in the articles. (just borrow from a friend in the class for those 2 days you actually need it)

Has anyone taken this class before and can give me advice and tips pls?

I took an upper-div ERG class. It was important to do the readings since our midterm and final papers were based off the readings. You can usually find out early on in the class whether you have to pay a lot of attention to the readings or not.

Try to get by without reading = my philosophy. Usually is worth it, lol.

^^^^ Right on lol.
I am trying to read everything but there’s so much material that I don’t even know which ones are important. I was looking on the syllabus and the average reading per lecture (twice a week) is 40-60 pages >_>
I may just take this class P/NP but on courserank it does say that the average distribution is A- which is pretty high. I may just have to wait until my first midterm…

I usually play it safe and read everything up until the first major assignment. Then I gauge if the class is BS or legit and go from there. Most classes are BS.
