I was accepted to Merrimack College, Suffolk University, UMass Lowell and UMass Amherst. I was also accepted to Merrimack and Suffolk's honors programs. I got some decent scholarships to Merrimack and Suffolk (around $23,000 total for both schools) and I got $5500 to UMass Lowell and UMass Amherst (also have Abigail Addams' scholarship). My parents don't really want me living on campus, but I do want to live on campus. I want to study history, political science or international relations, and I want to become a lawyer (or history teacher, if that doesn't work). I honestly cannot make a decision-the deposit for all the schools is due on May 1st. Could parents/students possibly give me some advice? Thank you :-)

Could someone please help me out? :/

If you can afford it, go to U Mass Amherst and live there. (I’m guessing you live around Boston?)

I live in northern Mass (around 45 min. from Boston). My mom thinks the school has a bad reputation (she says her friends say there’s a lot of rapes and stuff), but Merrimack and Suffolk gave me the most scholarships (the four schools are around the same price for me with scholarships factored in).

You need to consider requirements for retaining (merit) scholarship in future years. Heard way too many stories about kids who lose their scholly by the end of freshman.

I wanna go to a cheaper school and be able to be challenged but also do well. The requirements I believe are around a 3.0-3.5 for Abigail Addams’ scholarship. I am a diligent student (ranked 19th in my class, 4.15 GPA, many activities).

Thanks for your help so far :-)
