Need advice

Hi, I want to enroll in university in 2016. I plan to get sports scholarship. I am interested in Health and medicine, so I want to ask what is best soulution for Undergraduate student interested in that region. Is pre medicine worth trying? (correct me if it is not undergraduate), and if it is, can I continue (finish) medical studies in Europe or I need to go from beggining.
If there is better solution than pre medicine to study please tell me.
Also, should I do Biology SAT test?

It is extremely difficult for international students to be admitted to medical school in the US. First they have to finish an undergraduate degree in any subject while taking the pre-med courses. Then they have to apply to medical school here. Many medical schools do not admit any international students at all. Most of the ones that do, will require full payment for all four years of medical school at the time of enrollment. So, unless you have about USD 300,000 available, even if you would get admitted, you wouldn’t be able to attend.

If you want to be a physician, study medicine in your own country.

@happymomof1 I don’t want to study medicine here. Is there some other solution for undergraduate student, for example physical therapist, sports medicine assistant… My question was what is major for someone who has interests like me.

Requirements for physical therapy

Sports medicine is a very broad field. You’ll find more info and helpful links here

Take whatever SATs are required for entrance to particular schools. If you think you will do very well on the Biology SAT, then go ahead.

Also, what do you mean “I plan to get a sports scholarship”? Are you familiar with US college athletic recruitment processes? Sports scholarships are few, they’re offered to very accomplished athletes, and many will NOT cover all of your expenses.

@katliamom It’s not that hard in track and field, you have result–> you get scholarship. My friends have similiar result as me and they got 100% scholarship. One friend who has nice result got full with SAT 1230 (3 part). That is reason I have confidence in getting scholarship too.

I don’t recommend studying pre-medicine as a major even if you attend a university that offers it (and the better universities do not).

There’s a “pre-med” course sequence you need to complete to qualify for entrance to US medical schools. It consists of introductory course in biology, chemistry, physics, math and English. That sequence can be taken in addition to any other major. I do recommend you complete a proper major in addition to the pre-med coursework. This would give you more options after college.

I cannot speak about Europe as a whole, but German universities would not recognize the American pre-med sequence as a replacement for the pre-clinical part of a German medical degree. You would have to start from scratch (in Germany at least).
